What is Order Routing?
Order routing is the process of automatically directing customer orders to the most efficient fulfillment method:
- Warehouse stock
- Supplier dropship
- Third-party logistics (3PL)
- Multiple suppliers
Setting Up Order Routing
Step 1: Configure Fulfillment Sources
- Go to Settings → Fulfillment Sources
- Add sources:
- Warehouse: Your inventory location(s)
- Supplier: Dropship via supplier
- 3PL: Third-party warehouse
- Set priority and availability
Step 2: Create Routing Rules
- Go to Orders → Routing Rules
- Click + New Rule
- Set conditions:
- Customer location
- Order value
- Product type
- Stock availability
- Define action:
- Ship from warehouse
- Dropship from supplier
- Split across sources
- Save and activate
Step 3: Monitor Routing
- View order fulfillment status
- Track shipping times
- Monitor costs per channel
- Adjust rules based on performance
